Terry Pearson is a resident of Inver Grove Heights, a father, and a husband… He enjoys outdoor activities such as Mountain Biking, Hiking, Camping, and Hunting. When he is indoors, Terry especially enjoys spending time with his wife and daughter, playing strategy board games with friends, and building websites for his friends.
Terry was born in Shakopee, MN at St Francis Hospital. He grew up in the Minneapolis/St Paul metro area until he graduated from High School. After graduation, he volunteered his time at Master’s Commission – Mission, TX.
In 2001, he spent a short time at Bethany College of Missions. He met Jessica at there and they immediately became best friends. The eventually became engaged and they were married in 2003.
After getting married, Terry and Jessica finished college at Southwest Minnesota State University in Marshall, MN. While at SMSU, Terry represented the other students as a student senator, then as the Vice President of the student association. His responsibilities included running meetings, meeting with students to address issues, organizing all committees, and meeting with staff and univerity leadership.
As a leader in the Student Organization, Terry was responsible for attending the Minnesota State Student Association meetings and acting as a representative for the Southwest Minnesota State University. Sometimes these responsibilities went on to include meetings with legislators in St Paul and on one occasion, even meeting with some congressmen in Washington D.C.
Terry also served on committees at SMSU, such as the Technology Fee committee. It was a committee made up of university executives, technology areas, and student leadership. They were responsible for both short and long term budgeting for all student funded technology issues at the college. Terry served for multiple years on this committee.
Seeing the vital importance of remaining vigilant in preserving our freedoms and in limiting the scope and control of government, Terry got involved in the local chapter of the College Republicans. His organizing and leadership abilities eventually allowed him to serve as the president of the College Republicans for two years. He also served as a board member for the local BPOU and on the state board of the Minnesota College Republicans.
Terry and Jessica spent endless hours volunteering for local candidates for city council, county commissioner, state legislator, etc. They also worked with students to educate and raise awareness of the importance of limited government. They could often be found sitting at information tables between classes, handing out literature, and more, even outside of the campaign season.
Terry eventually received a B.S. in Computer Science with a minor in business administration. Jessica received a B.S. in Accounting with a minor in Business Administration.
Terry and Jessica found a house in Inver Grove Heights after graduation. Around the same time, they found out they were expecting their first child. Several months later, baby Abigail Pearson was born.
Terry has a career with a large financial institution in St Paul as a software developer. His wife is an accountant for the state offices of the Assembly of God church.
You may see Terry and Jessica out and about with their daughter in the community. Their daughter loves to go on trips to the zoo, parks, and even the grocery store. On Sunday mornings, the whole family is usually involved in helping out at Highpoint Church.
